INTRODUCTION

The following guidelines have been developed to assist you in applying the San Antonio Express News logo and its variations to all materials produced, both internally and externally. Consistent adherence to the standards will reinforce the identity of the San Antonio Express-News as a professional and unified corporate organization. Usage of the San Antonio Express News logo is contingent upon acceptance of and adherence to the specifications set forth in this document.

In order to maintain the consistent use of the San Antonio Express-News logo, these are the standards for usage of the logo in several venues. Please read over these guidelines and be mindful of them in all uses of the San Antonio Express-News logo.

PROMOTIONAL LOGO

May be used in advertising or promotional situations in the San Antonio metropolitan area. Not the recommended logo for corporate communication or representation.

CORPORATE LOGO

The Hearst Eagle and the San Antonio Express-News or the Express-News type are always joined to form the corporate signature. These two elements must always hold the exact size and position relationships shown here.

May be used in any local or non-local situation in corporate communication and representation.

May be used in local corporate representation where the full name plate exceeds the available proportions.

INCORRECT LOGO USAGE

This section illustrates some of the unacceptable permutations and incorrect uses of the San Antonio Express-News logo.

Distortion of the logo
Do not condense, expand or distort the logo in any way. It is very important to observe the correct scaling procedure when enlarging or reducing digital files of the logo.
Proportional Change of the logo
Do not alter the proportions or the relationship between parts of the logo. The elements that comprise the logo have been strictly defined.
Keyline (stroke) addition to the logo
Do not add a keyline around the logo as it shouldn’t be contained within a shape.
Color Change
Do not alter the colors of the logo.
Outline
Do not add a surrounding outline, drop shadow, or other visual effects to the logo.

LOGOS TO DOWNLOAD

All .eps files were created in Adobe Illustrator CS and are vector art.

Instructions for downloading logos:
MAC - Once you click to download the .eps version it will automatically start saving to your desktop.
For the .jpg or .gif formats after clicking on which you wish to download the logo will open in the web window. You will then need to hold down the control key and click on the logo and hold while a menu pops up and choose save image to desktop.
PC - Once you click to download the .eps version the computer will then ask you if wish to save the file.
For the .jpg or .gif formats after clicking on which you wish to download the logo will open in the web window. You will then need to right-click on the logo and hold while a menu pops up and choose save picture as to save image to desktop.
